‘Haere mai’ – Welcome to Christchurch, the Garden City! Check in and unwind or take a stroll to explore the city’s attractions. This afternoon, meet your fellow riders and enjoy an immersive Maori cultural experience, followed by a delightful dinner at the hotel.

DAY 2

Friday 9th January 2026 – Christchurch to Hanmer Springs
After a complimentary transfer to the Care My Tours base, it’s time to check out your motorcycle and hit the road! Ride through lush pastures, vineyards, and sparkling rivers, crossing your first mountain pass en route to the alpine village of Hanmer Springs. Relax in the open-air thermal hot pools before enjoying dinner with your new friends.

DAY 3

Saturday 10th January 2026 – Hanmer Springs to Punakaiki
Today’s ride takes you through the breathtaking West Coast via the twists and turns of Lewis Pass and Lower Buller Gorge. Watch the landscape transition from alpine mountains to dense, Jurassic-style rainforests. Visit a seal colony and ride along the spectacular coastal road to Punakaiki, home of the famous Pancake Rocks. Enjoy a sunset dinner at your beachfront hotel while listening to the waves.

DAY 4

Sunday 11th January 2026 – Punakaiki to Franz Josef
Follow the coastal road framed by the Tasman Sea and snow-capped Southern Alps. Explore small local villages, driftwood beaches, and rainforest scenery. Arrive in Franz Josef Glacier Village with options for a helicopter flight onto the glacier or a visit to the West Coast Wildlife Centre to meet native Kiwi birds. Finish the day with a classic West Coast pub dinner and perhaps a glow-worm adventure.

DAY 5

Monday 12th January 2026 – Franz Josef to Queenstown
Ride through the legendary Haast Pass, with waterfalls and wild rivers along the way. Pause at stunning Lake Wanaka before ascending New Zealand’s highest tar-sealed road to Queenstown, the adventure capital of the Southern Hemisphere. Your centrally located hotel makes it easy to explore Steamer Wharf and the Skyline Gondola. Evening free for dining at your leisure.

DAY 6

Tuesday 13th January 2026 – Explore Queenstown
Enjoy a full day to explore Queenstown at your own pace. Options include a cable car ride, paragliding, or the Luge. Tonight, embark on a scenic steamboat cruise on Lake Wakatipu to Walter Peak Station for a farm tour and gourmet BBQ dinner.

DAY 7

Wednesday 14th January 2026 – Queenstown to Te Anau
Ride scenic backroads from Queenstown to a historic gold-mining town for lunch, with a stop at the Shotover River for an exhilarating jet-boat ride. Continue between the Remarkables mountain range and Lake Wakatipu to Fiordland National Park, gateway to Milford Sound. Optional evening visit to Te Anau Glow-worm Caves via a boat ride (dinner not included).

DAY 8

Thursday 15th January 2026 – Te Anau to Milford Sound Return

Saturday 17th January 2026 – Invercargill to Dunedin
Ride along a hidden coastal route featuring a million-year-old petrified forest and quiet Pacific roads. Afternoon tea at a secret location precedes arrival in Dunedin, renowned for its Scottish heritage and Victorian architecture. Finish the day with a brewery tour and Alehouse dinner.

DAY 11

Sunday 18th January 2026 – Dunedin to Mount Cook National Park
Ride north along the Pacific Coast, pausing to admire ancient boulders and the historic town of Oamaru. Journey through the Southern hydro-lakes to Mackenzie Country and enjoy the thrill of riding along Lake Pukaki to Mount Cook Village, with the majestic Aoraki / Mount Cook as backdrop. Evening includes Quiz Night!

DAY 12

Monday 19th January 2026 – Mackenzie Country to Christchurch
Stop at Lake Tekapo and the iconic Church of the Good Shepherd. Descend over the final mountain pass into Canterbury Plains, with a visit to a country farm shop for lunch and souvenirs. Conclude the tour with a ‘Bikes, Beers & Barbie’ farewell barbecue before transferring back to the Pavilions Hotel.
